Corita 101

Corita Art Center’s program curriculum is designed by teaching artists and CAC programming staff, grounded in Corita’s message of love, compassion, and joy, with a bent toward social justice. We encourage teaching artists to locate organic connections between their work and Corita’s legacy, providing Learning by Heart—the collection of Corita’s original projects and exercises—as a foundational resource. Corita 101 continues to elicit unique contributions from teaching artists in the form of online workshops, instructional videos, and downloadable art projects that are sought after by general audiences and art educators alike.

Corita 101: Learning by Heart (At Home)
We've launched a new video series inspired by Corita and Jan Steward's seminal text "Learning by Heart: Teachings to Free the Creative Spirit". This first video introduces the main concepts from the book - looking, sources, structure, connect + create, work + play, and celebration. Over the next few months, we'll be sharing videos by artists around the world responding to these ideas in their own creative practice.
